Our commitment

- We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.
- We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this site.
Our commitment to accessibility
PassMyKitchen believes that every food business owner should be able to manage their food safety compliance digitally, regardless of ability. We are committed to providing a website and application that is accessible to the widest possible audience.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
PassMyKitchen partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conforms" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to reach full conformance.
Accessibility measures we have taken
PassMyKitchen takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Semantic HTML: we use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and semantic elements throughout the application.
- Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard. Focus indicators are visible on all focusable elements.
- Color contrast: text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios. We do not rely on color alone to convey information.
- Screen reader support: images include alt text, form fields have associated labels, and ARIA attributes are used where native HTML semantics are insufficient.
- Responsive design: the application works across screen sizes and supports text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Motion and animation: we respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query and minimize non-essential animations.
- Form accessibility: all forms provide clear labels, error messages are associated with their fields, and required fields are clearly indicated.
- Testing: we test with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers during development and review cycles.
Technologies
Accessibility of PassMyKitchen relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- WAI-ARIA
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, some parts of PassMyKitchen may not be fully accessible. We are aware of the following limitations and are actively working to resolve them:
- PDF exports: generated HACCP plan and inspection report PDFs may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We are working on adding proper PDF tagging.
- Payment modal: the Razorpay checkout modal is a third-party component. While Razorpay maintains their own accessibility standards, we cannot guarantee full conformance of elements within the payment modal.
- Charts and graphs: compliance score charts and trend visualizations may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We provide text-based alternatives where possible.
- AI-generated content: HACCP plans and AI assistant responses are generated dynamically. While we structure the output with proper headings and lists, the content itself may occasionally lack optimal reading order.
